Asian Arowana Scleropages formosus
Also know as the Dragon Fish or Boneytongue, the Asian Arowana originate as the name suggests, in Asia. They are found in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Although not as long as their South American cousins, they are deeper in the body and produce just as much waste so again a good filter system is essential Their natural environment is from about 75 to 86 degrees F (24-30 C) and in the wild reach about 3' (90cm) so you will need a large covered tank to keep them long term. As with all Arowana water conditions must be perfect with a pH 7 - 7.5
Asain Arowana are an endangered species so all our specimems are captive bred by licencied breeders and are imported in accordance with international regulations. Typical colour variations are Black and Green although color forms to like Purples, Blues, Red, varying Gold, Green, and Silver are available. However as these may sell for hundreds, or even thousands of pounds, they are considerably rarer in the pet trade.
All our Arowana are feeding consistently before they are offered for sale and we are happy to discuss food and feeding routines before you buy.
