Grosvenor Tropicals fully endorsees the OATA's policy on the humane  treatment of livestock. We may refuse any sale where we believe that a customer cannot provide a suitable environment for care of that species.

We do not supply Goldfish for use as prizes at Fetes, Fun Fairs or other events.

Livestock to Order

Many of our Customers ask if we are able to obtain specific species for their collections. We do do our best to accommodate these requests, but success varies dramatically between species, particularly in freshwater varieties.

Marine stock normally arrives on a weekly basis, and can usually be ordered up to noon on a Monday. Providing stock is available in the UK we can have the fish in Lisburn before closing time on Tuesday afternoon. By prior arrangement they can be collected un-opened directly from the store on the Tuesday, or as normal on any of the following few days.

A few of the more exotic specimens which are unsuitable to be housed in our display tanks MUST be collected on the Tuesday afternoon, but we would discuss this with you at the time of order.

Plants are also ordered on a weekly basis and we are happy to include your specific requests to the supplier. Latest orders are Sunday afternoon, with the plants arriving in Lisburn the following Wednesday, but please note, not all species are available every week, some are seasonal.

Air CargoFreshwater Fish are however a different story, and some species can be very difficult to source. This may be because they are difficult to transport and acclimatise, or simply because there is no demand for them in the UK.

To obtain such fish we must take a minimum order, which could be a single specimem, but more likely tens, or even hundreds of fish.

In such cases the reality is simple, although you may want some, unless we can be sure of selling the rest of the shipment its not going to happen..!

However, all is not doom and gloom. We do have many specimen fish in our quarantine facility. You can reserve these for collection when they have completed their acclimatisation
