Corn Snake Elaphe guttata guttata
The corn snakes are found throughout the southern USA and Mexico, in areas of open woodland and fields and is often found around farms and grain stores, hence its name. It normally grows between 3 and 5 feet. They are a placid snake, reluctant to bite and easily handled.
Due to their temperament Corn Snakes are a recommended first snake to keep as they are relatively easy to care for and don’t outgrow their welcome in the way that some Boas and Pythons can and are the perfect choice for beginners. They also enjoy favour with many experienced keepers due to the vast array of beautiful colours and patterns selective breeding has produced.
