Algone Algae Control

Use Algone® to correct nutrient imbalances and to clear cloudy water. Maintaining an established tank with Algone helps prevent many frustrating problems related to bad water quality and helps keep the aquarium crystal clear. 

Algone® enhances the aquariums ability to break down waste more effectively and is safe for fish, plants, live rock, coral, snails, algae eaters, invertebrates, polyps, etc. Algone® stimulates micro-bacterial activity by optimising the dissolved oxygen content in the aquarium and can be easily placed in any filter system without the need to remove the activated Carbon.

Completely Safe

Unlike most other products, Algone contains no chemicals and will not adversely effect any other life forms, including plants. Algone eliminates excessive nutrients from the water leaving existing algae spores with nothing to feed on. Conventional treatment products introduce chemicals to the tank, which would not otherwise be found in a natural aquatic environment. They temporarily treat the symptom but do not address the origin of the underlying problem.

Based on a biological process, micro-organisms contained in Algone use available nitrogen compounds as a source of nutrition enabling Algone to retain the nitrogenous waste while eliminating its re-release into the aquarium. By converting ammonia, nitrite and nitrate to protein it also enhances conditions for nitrifying bacteria by creating a higher dissolved oxygen content and additional nutrition. Algone also has a inhibitory effect on hydrogen sulphite (a result of failing filtration and high nutrient levels) which is highly toxic to fish.

Algone will not pose any harm to live rock, corals or inverts. Algone is 100% reef safe.
