Marine
Those of you who have been visiting this page only to be disappointed
by the "Under Construction" notice, take heart, we are at last starting
to make some progress. Having got the new shop up and running we
hope to have the opportunity to get the web-site up to the same
professional standard.
As we refuse to sell livestock on-line or mail-order it would be
pointless to list the specimens which we have in stock and their prices.
What we do hope to provide is useful information on the various species
which are generally available to the hobbyist and practical advise on
their care.
For the newcomer to Marine Fishkeeping the hardware involved is often
as confusing at the Livestock. In the 'Marine Keeping' section we hope
to explode the myth that this facet of the hobby is only for rich blokes
with a PhD. We will try to explain exactly what equipment you need, why
you need it, how it works, and last, but not least, how much it is
likely to cost.
I and some of my colleagues started keeping Marines over 30 years
ago. In the "Good Ole Days" it was all under gravel filters, technology
such as Protein Skimmers, UV Sterilisers and Reverse Osmosis units was
unheard off. We don't claim to know it all, but we hope we know enough
to get you on the right track to enjoy this fascinating and rewarding
aspect of fish keeping.
To stimulate your interest while we work to get the various sections
populated we have started with our photo gallery. Most of the
photographs were taken in our own tanks, but we have also included some
taken by members of staff on recent diving trips to the Seychelles and
Maldives
