Nowadays, as with Tropical species, all Marine
fish which we offer for sale are from internationally regulated and
sustainable sources. Many, such as the clown fish, are actually tank
breed, while others, sometimes described as "wild caught", are in
reality from managed reefs something akin to free-range fish farms. The
same is also true for Corals which are now cultured in an eco-friendly
way rather than being plundered from the natural reefs.
Herald’s Angel Centropyge heraldi
Herald's
Angelfish, Centropyge heraldi, also known as the False Lemonpeel, looks
almost exactly like a Lemonpeel Angelfish. but without the blue ring
around the eye and gill covers. It is also slightly smaller.
A great fish for the community aquarium, Herald’s Angel will do best in
an aquarium with live rock for it to graze on. Herald’s Angel may nip at
zoanthids, clam mantles, and less noxious large-polyped stony corals. If
you plan to keep other pygmy angels it is best to add them at the same
time to avoid “territorial disputes”.
Although it will adapt to a wide variety of prepared and frozen foods in
captivity, in the wild pPygmy angelfish are known to eat mostly algae,
so a diet rich in vegetable matter is essential.
