Nowadays, as with Tropical species, all Marine
fish which we offer for sale are from internationally regulated and
sustainable sources. Many, such as the clown fish, are actually tank
breed, while others, sometimes described as "wild caught", are in
reality from managed reefs something akin to free-range fish farms. The
same is also true for Corals which are now cultured in an eco-friendly
way rather than being plundered from the natural reefs.
Eibl's Angel Centropyge eibli
Preopercle
spine, lips and fin edges brilliant blue in colour. Silver grey body
with vertical orange bars across the body and a black tail fin. Orange
ring around the eye. Size ranges between 1 inch and 3 inches but can
reach 5 inches in the wild
Eibl’s Angel can be a great success in reef aquariums, however it is
more likely to pick on corals and clams than the Coral Beauty or Flame
Angel, although this does vary with some specimens more prone to pick at
your reef then others Unfortunately you can never really know for
sure until you add it to your aquarium. Recommended for the more daring
reef aquarist. Can be kept with a wide variety of other fishes, except
large predators. If you plan to house it with other pygmy angels it is
best to add them together to avoid “territorial disputes”.
Once past initial acclimation this fish is a usually a peaceful addition
to the tank. As with all centropyge it will feed on flake foods but will
do much better on a variety of small bite-size frozen foods, such as
mysis shrimp. These fish enjoy having access to hiding places. Tanks
with live or decorative corals and rock are great. Position the rock
openly so as to create many passages
