Nowadays, as with Tropical species, all Marine
fish which we offer for sale are from internationally regulated and
sustainable sources. Many, such as the clown fish, are actually tank
breed, while others, sometimes described as "wild caught", are in
reality from managed reefs something akin to free-range fish farms. The
same is also true for Corals which are now cultured in an eco-friendly
way rather than being plundered from the natural reefs.
Cherub Angel Centropyge Argi
Deep
blue, the head and chest orange-yellow; a narrow blue ring around eye; a
small dark blue smudge just behind corner of mouth; pectoral fins pale
yellowish; other fins deep blue with pale blue margins
Common in the Caribbean from Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to South
America. Although preferring to graze in the coral rubble in deeper
water, often below 100ft It is sometimes seen in shallower water only a
few metre deep.
Eating mostly algae in the wild it is very hardy and generally a good
eater taking all manner of offered foods and grazing on hair algae on
live rock in the aquarium. They can be somewhat aggressive towards
other of the same or related species, although aggression seems lower
than other angels. Generally a good reef fish so long as they don't
develop a taste for polyps and clams
One of the smaller dwarf angels, and very tolerant of tank conditions,
although as with any marine fish, the bigger the tank the better.
